Mr. Estey's principal occupation is as a Corporate Director. Mr. Estey is the retired Chairman of UBS Securities Canada Inc., a financial services company, and has more than 30 years of experience in financial markets. Mr. Estey joined Alfred Bunting and Company as an institutional equity salesperson in 1980 after working at A.E. Ames & Co for seven years. In 1994, Mr. Estey became the head of the Canadian Equities business, and in 2002 Mr. Estey was appointed President & Chief Executive Officer of UBS Securities Canada Inc. In January 2008, Mr. Estey assumed the role of Chairman of UBS Securities Canada Inc. Mr. Estey is a director and Chairman of Gibson Energy Inc., a TSX-listed oil and gas company, and a lead director of New Gold Inc., a mining company listed on the TSX and the New York Stock Exchange ("NYSE"). Mr. Estey also serves on the Advisory Board of the Edwards School of Business.
Director, President & CEO
Curtis Philippon joined Certarus as the Vice President Finance & CFO in June 2014 and took over as the President & CEO in November 2016. Curtis has over 15 years of leadership experience in both operational and finance roles. Prior to his appointment at Certarus he was the operational Vice President at Enerflex responsible for the compression rental fleet for Canada & Northern USA. Mr. Philippon spent nine years in senior management roles at Enerflex and its predecessor company Toromont. Mr. Philippon was also a Controller at both Cathedral Energy Services, an international drilling and completion company and International Paper, an international forest products company.
Mr. Philippon holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta, a CPA CMA designation and a MBA from the University of Calgary.
Mr. Bloom has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry, and currently serves as a director of Gibson Energy Inc. Mr. Bloom retired from Spectra Energy (now Enbridge) in April of 2016, having served in numerous executive capacities with Spectra Energy and its predecessor companies Duke Energy and Westcoast Energy. From 2013 to 2016 he served with Spectra Energy as President, Canadian LNG, from 2008 to 2012 as President, Spectra Energy Transmission West, and from 2003 to 2007 as President, Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline. Mr. Bloom has served as a board member of the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association and as its Chair in 2011/2012. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in economics.
Director & Co-founder
Ten plus years of experience in the oil and gas finance and investment industry. Mr. Woitas holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Calgary.
Mr. Woitas has been a director and partner at Calmar Capital Corp. (an energy focused private equity and merchant banking firm) since December 2010. Prior to joining Calmar, Mr. Woitas spent seven years in the Oil & Gas Investment Banking Group with Tristone Capital Corp. and Macquarie Capital. In addition to being a director and co-founder of Certarus, Mr. Woitas is also on the board of directors of Rolling Hills Energy Ltd. (Chairman), Turnstone Energy Inc. and Mediterra Energy Corp.
Ms. Holzhauser is a professional engineer and management professional with more than 35 years’ experience in the petrochemical industry. She joined Chevron Phillips Chemical in 2014, where she served as Vice President of Environment, Health, Safety and Security. Prior to this, she held the position of Operations Director and Vice President, Operations in INEOS Nitriles. Ms. Holzhauser holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Houston executive program.

Mr. Tetley holds a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Calgary. Mr. Tetley is in the corporate finance and securities group of Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP and has a wide range of experience in corporate governance, equity financings and M&A transaction work. Mr. Tetley is currently the director and/or corporate secretary of a number of issuers and is also a member of a Private Funds Independent Review Committee for Deans Knight Capital Management Ltd.

Clint Warkentin is an accomplished executive, with over 20 years of experience in the energy industry. Immediately prior to joining Certarus, he spent nine years with ATCO in progressively more senior roles including VP Treasurer, VP Finance & Risk, and Senior Financial Officer. Earlier in his career, Clint held senior positions at TD Securities, Superior Plus, and a renewable power company.
Clint holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan, a CPA CMA designation, a CFA designation, and completed the Ivey Executive Program.
Chief Operating Officer
Natasha Cherednichenko previously held the role of Vice President for Water and Flowback Services for TETRA Technologies, responsible for strategic direction, innovative technology, personnel development, and operational efficiency, as well as driving profitability and HSEQ performance. Prior to joining TETRA in 2019, she held a variety of operational and functional leadership roles over a 16-year career with Schlumberger, and has experience across all major US unconventional basins, Latin America, Australia, and Europe. She holds Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from Monash University in Australia, and a Masters in Oil and Gas Management from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland.
Vice President Corporate Development
Dan Bertram spent over five years at Alaris Royalty Corp as VP Business Development, leading their origination and deployment efforts. Earlier in his career he worked for Deans Knight Capital Management as an Investment Analyst and spent time in the investment banking industry.
Dan is a Finance Grad from Boston College and holds a CFA designation.
Vice President - Engineering
David Stevenson is an energy executive with 35 years of experience in the Natural Gas and Petrochemical industries. Prior to Joining Certarus, he spent five years with Eagle LNG Partners LLC, as the Vice President of Engineering with responsibility for developing, engineering and executing multiple state of the art LNG facilities in Florida and Alberta, including the first ever Shore to Ship LNG bunkering facility in the United States. Prior to that, David spent 20 years with Enerflex Energy Systems in progressively more senior roles including Chief Engineer, Director of Engineering and Director of Natural Gas processing.
David obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University.
Vice President Pipelines, Power & Utilities
Dean Ferguson is an energy executive with 30 years of experience in the natural gas and electricity industries. Prior to joining Certarus, he spent 27 years at TransCanada, over ten of which he spent working on their executive team with roles such as Senior Vice President Energy Strategy & Development and Senior Vice President and General Manager, US Pipelines. Dean also held executive leadership roles with a commercial and business development focus in Canada, the US, and Mexico.
Dean holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and an MBA from the University of Calgary.
Vice President Finance & Corporate Controller
Denyel Sears joined the Certarus team in 2014, focusing on corporate governance and financial reporting. Denyel is a CPA, CGA with 15 years of financial experience in varying capacities. Prior to joining Certarus Denyel held the positions of Divisional Controller and Assistant Controller at Enerflex Ltd. and Corporate Controller at GLBH Corporate Services.
Denyel holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta.
Vice President Renewable Natural Gas
Jacob Pratt joined Certarus to lead the renewable natural gas business unit. Jacob brings more than 15 years of senior business development experience in oil and gas, infrastructure, and private equity portfolio management, with his focus in recent years on the renewable natural gas market. Prior to Certarus, Jacob was the VP of Sales & Business Development with Morrow Energy and BCCK, and VP of Sales & Marketing with Rush-Overland. Jacob holds a Bachelor of Engineering Technology, Concrete Industrial Management & Business Administration in addition to an MBA from Middle Tennessee State University.
Kellie L. Johnston
VP Sustainability & General Counsel
Kellie Johnston is an experienced lawyer and sustainability professional, and leads a comprehensive environmental, social and governance (ESG) program for Certarus. In addition to leading the ESG program, she is responsible for all legal matters and also oversees communications and marketing. Prior to joining Certarus, Kellie was a senior member of Norton Rose Fulbright LLP’s global risk advisory practice and led the firm’s ESG practice for Canada. Before that she ran her own sustainability consulting firm and worked in senior environmental and regulatory roles with two international energy companies.
Kellie holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Dalhousie University and a Master of Laws in International Law from the University of New South Wales in Australia. She is also a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP).
Vice President Sales, USA
Marshall Zurovec is an accomplished sales leader in the energy industry, having served in a variety of field and office based roles. Prior to joining Certarus, Marshall held positions at Baker Hughes from the field level to National Account Manager, and also worked as Vice President of Energy Business Development at Duff & Phelps.
Marshall earned degrees in Political Science and Geographic Information Systems at The University of Texas at Austin.
Human Resources Manager
Amber Mercer is an HR professional with expertise in recruitment, payroll and employee relations. Amber started her career in technical recruitment for major capital projects in the upstream oil and gas industry. She later went on to lead the talent acquisition initiatives for PepsiCo in Western Canada. Amber has a passion for building and supporting high performing teams. Amber holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University.
Canadian and Northern USA Operations Manager
Brent brings over 25 years experience in the commercial, industrial oil and gas and refrigeration industries. Brent previously worked throughout Canada, the United States, Pakistan, Germany, Italy and Libya in various roles throughout his career from installations, start-ups, maintenance and troubleshooting on all types of compression and processing equipment. Brent has a strong professional work ethic with many years in Management roles and holds a Journeyman interprovincial HVAC and Refrigeration Ticket. Brent joined the Certarus team in 2012.
Manager, Technology & Business Process
Chi Fang brings with him 12 years of technology and business experience. Prior to joining Certarus, he founded an internet start-up focused on e-learning, and consulted for fast-growing technology companies. Earlier in his career, Chi worked for ATCO in Corporate Finance & Planning, as well as for HSBC in Investment Banking.
Chi holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University, and a CFA designation.
Transportation Safety & Compliance Manager
James Griffin is a Safety Engineer with more than 20 years of experience in the transportation and energy industries. Prior to joining Certarus, James was the US DOT Safety and Compliance Manager for Schlumberger and previously held several progressively more senior operational and safety roles at Shell. Earlier in his career he worked as a State Trooper in Mississippi where he was responsible for DOT Enforcement and HAZMAT training at the State Fire Academy.
James holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Safety Science and a Master of Engineering Degree in Advanced Safety Engineering and Management. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate degree at the University Alabama Birmingham in Advanced Safety Engineering and Management.
Operations Manager – Transportation
James has held field and leadership positions in residential and commercial construction, commercial agriculture, and trucking and rail operations. He has over 10 years of transportation and logistics experience. James is a licensed Class 1 driver, holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Supply Chain Management and an MBA from the Haskayne School of Business. James joined the Certarus team in 2015.
Corporate HSE Manager
Julia Johnson is an HSE professional with diverse experience working in both field and corporate environments. Prior to working for Certarus, Julia provided safety and transportation compliance support to various oil and gas service companies. Julia is passionate about behaviour-based safety and building a positive safety culture. Julia holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Lethbridge.
Southern USA Operations Manager
Kevin Madison brings with him over 6 years of oil and gas experience directly relating to CNG, Field gas and LNG fueling programs. Prior to working in the alternative fueling industry, Kevin gained experience in drilling and completions with Baker Hughes and Schlumberger. Kevin studied Aviation sciences and holds a pilots license.
Southern USA Sales Manager
Landon Hayes is an energy industry sales professional with extensive experience in the Permian Basin, where he currently resides. Prior to joining Certarus, Landon served as a contributing team member and leader for several drilling and completions service companies. Landon entered the energy industry after a career as a vocational pastor and family and life counselor. Landon holds a BA in Religion from Wayland Baptist University.
Technical Services Engineering Manager
Richard Cheng comes to Certarus with over 20 years of engineering and leadership experience in equipment design and project execution in the energy industry. Prior to joining Certarus, he spent four years at a small scale LNG operating company, where he managed the design and development of an LNG export facility. Richard has also held leadership roles developing projects for gas processing, gas-fired and geothermal power generation in the US, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean Islands.
Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
Northern U.S. Sales Manager
Ty Butikofer has 10 years of sales experience, 8 of which are in the oil and gas service industry. Prior to Certarus, Ty held positions at Halliburton as a sales leader, sales manager, and finally in their corporate sales division. Ty then became the technical sales engineer for Coiled Tubing Partners, responsible for all of sales and engineering in the Rockies region. Ty has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Criminal Law with a Minor in Biology from Portland State University.
Area Manager – Permian Basin
Wilse Dimino has over 15 years of leadership experience in various operational, maintenance, project, and engineering roles in the energy industry. Prior to joining Certarus, he was the US Operations Manager at Hi Crush after spending 13 years with Halliburton where he held various leadership roles across all major US basins.
Wilse has a Bachelor of Software Engineering degree from Mississippi State University.
