Utah Expansion & Data Center Project
May 14, 2026Certarus Expands into Utah with New CNG Supply Hub, Secures 60 MW Data Center Contract
New Utah hub delivers on-demand natural gas to industrial and hyperscale data center customers; contract award signals accelerating momentum in high-growth verticals
HOUSTON, TX — May 14, 2026 — Certarus, a wholly owned subsidiary of Superior Plus Corp. (TSX: SPB), today announced that it is commissioning a new compressed natural gas (CNG) supply hub southeast of Salt Lake City, Utah, and has also been awarded a contract to serve as the primary natural gas supplier for a 60 MW hyperscale data center project in the area. The CNG hub will come online this month, with the data center expected to commence operations in the early summer of 2026.
Growing Demand Across Data Center and Industrial Markets
Hyperscale data center development, driven by artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, is accelerating across North America, creating urgent demand for reliable power that can be deployed ahead of permanent grid and pipeline infrastructure.
At the same time, industrial customers across the region are increasingly seeking flexible, reliable natural gas supply to support operations, manage peak demand, and ensure continuity in environments where infrastructure is constrained or evolving.
Certarus's mobile CNG platform, anchored by the largest portable compression fleet in the industry, is purpose-built for these needs, providing scalable, turnkey natural gas delivery from early-stage project deployment through long-term operations. The Utah hub and associated contract are the latest in a series of recent data center and industrial wins that reflect growing market recognition of Certarus's capabilities across multiple end markets.
A Platform Built to Serve Multiple High-Growth Verticals
Certarus brings a differentiated set of capabilities to both data center and industrial customers:
- Largest portable compression fleet in the industry, paired with the largest CNG transport trailer fleet in North America—together providing unmatched deployment scale, flexibility, and redundancy
- Proprietary high-flow pressure-reduction systems engineered for prime power and industrial applications
- Integrated gas supply and logistics platform, delivering turnkey energy solutions without dependence on fixed infrastructure
- Experienced field operations team with a track record of executing complex, large-scale deployments
This combination positions Certarus as one of the most capable partners for customers who need to move quickly, scale efficiently, and operate reliably—including as a backup and supplemental source alongside future pipeline connections.
"What we are seeing is a structural shift, not a temporary spike. Across both data center and industrial markets, customers are facing a common challenge—energy infrastructure that cannot keep pace with demand. Certarus provides a credible, scalable solution to that challenge. This Utah hub is one node in a growing network of strategically positioned supply points that allow us to serve customers quickly and efficiently across multiple end markets." — Dale Winger, President, Certarus
