Executive Team

Mr. Winger joined Superior Plus as President of Certarus in March 2025. Mr. Winger brings a track record of driving growth and returns with more than two decades of commercial, strategic and leadership experience in the chemical and oilfield service sectors. Before joining Superior, Mr. Winger was the Managing Director of Halliburton Labs, where he led the company’s Future of Energy strategy and equity investments in early-stage energy technology companies. Mr. Winger also served as Vice President of Halliburton’s specialty chemicals business with global leadership responsibility for financial performance, including revenue expansion, operational improvements, strategic direction, organizational development and capital allocation. Mr. Winger holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction from Purdue University.

Aashish Christian joined Certarus in 2020 and has held multiple leadership roles within Operations & Logistics Management while focusing on operational efficiency, cost reduction and process improvement. Aashish has over 17 years of experience in various capacities within Supply Chain. Prior to joining Certarus he has worked in energy, transportation, railway, retail, and supply chain solution industries.

Aashish holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Economics from Western Michigan University.

Chi Fang possesses 15+ years of technology and business experience, and has overseen Certarus’ IT, Software Development and Business Intelligence functions since 2019.  Prior to joining Certarus, he founded an internet start-up focused on e-learning, and consulted for fast-growing companies in the tech sector.  Earlier in his career, Chi worked for ATCO in Corporate Finance & Planning, as well as for HSBC in Investment Banking.

Chi holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University, and a CFA designation.

Mr. Messina joined Certarus in early 2021 and brings more than a decade of experience in the energy sector. In his current role, he leads the company's growth agenda, with responsibility for new market development, new product lines, strategic partnerships, corporate strategy, and commercial leadership. He previously led Certarus's renewable natural gas business, working closely with the company's RNG partners as that market matured. Before joining Certarus, Mr. Messina spent his early career at Baker Hughes, beginning in the field and advancing through sales leadership to Global Business Development. Throughout his career, he has focused on building durable commercial relationships and turning complex customer problems into simple, executable solutions.

Mr. Messina holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with distinction, from California State University, Monterey Bay.

Delfino comes to Certarus with over 20 years of Health, Safety and Environmental experience. Prior to joining Certarus, he held the role of Global HSE Manager at TETRA Technologies, where he managed and developed HSE strategy, programs, and practices for the water & flowback division across the US, Canada, United Kingdom, and Latin America. Throughout his career, Delfino has consistently strived to be at the forefront of health, safety and environmental leadership.

We are pleased to announce that Scott Van Rooijen has recently joined Certarus as Vice President, Finance. Scott brings over 15 years of finance leadership experience to the organization, most recently, he served as Director of FP&A, Canada Fuel Distribution, at Sunoco LP (formerly Parkland Corporation). During his time at Parkland, he held senior roles across corporate services, controllership, strategic planning, M&A integration and data analytics. Earlier in his career, Scott worked with Deloitte Audit & Assurance in Johannesburg, South Africa, supporting clients across the energy, retail and manufacturing sectors.

Scott is a designated CA(SA) and holds a Bachelor of Accounting Honors from the University of Johannesburg.

Marie Vernon joined the Certarus team in January 2022.  With over 20 years of experience in human resources and labor relations in government, private and public sectors, Marie is a strategic HR leader who drives talent management, organizational excellence, and employee engagement.  Prior to Certarus Marie held the role of HR Director at Packers Plus Energy Services and led a team of international HR professionals providing valuable insights into different cultural contexts and global HR practices across multiple regions.    Marie holds a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation and is a graduate of the University of Calgary’s Human Resources Program, General Management Program, Adult Learning Program and Yale’s Executive Education Women’s Leadership Program.

Mr. Zurovec serves as Vice President of Business Development for Certarus, leading commercial growth initiatives across all regions for the company. Throughout his career, Mr. Zurovec has built extensive experience across the energy industry, spanning field operations, corporate development, and executive sales leadership.  Prior to joining Certarus, Marshall held various positions for Baker Hughes's drill bit and reamer division, as well as having worked as a Vice President for Duff & Phelps's Energy tax practice.

Marshall holds degrees in Political Science and Geographic Information Systems from The University of Texas at Austin.

Richard Cheng comes to Certarus with over 20 years of engineering and leadership experience in equipment design and project execution in the energy industry. Prior to joining Certarus, he spent four years at a small-scale LNG operating company, where he managed the design and development of an LNG export facility. Richard has also held leadership roles developing projects for gas processing, gas-fired and geothermal power generation in the US, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean Islands. 

Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
